Jayden Stockley joins – Port Vale add a striker to their ranks
Port Vale FC have added experienced striker Jayden Stockley to their squad, the club has confirmed.
The Valiants were desperate for forward options following the departures of Uche Ikpeazu and James Wilson plus the squad’s lack of goal-threat from upfront last season.
Stockley has signed a two-year deal with the club after an eighteen month spell with Fleetwood Town. The 30 year-old has 141 career goals from 484 appearances and scored ten times in 41 games last season. He is the club’s third signing of the summer.
His former club, Fleetwood, reported that Stockley moved for an “undisclosed fee.”
Port Vale manager Darren Moore told the official website: “Jayden is an experienced striker with a proven track record of scoring goals and will add an aggressive, combative and quality dynamic to our final third.
“He is another player who sets himself the highest standards both on and off the pitch and will be a real role model to the younger players in our squad. I am absolutely delighted to welcome Jayden to Vale Park and we are all looking forward to working closely with him next season.”

This is an excellent signing for you. He scored 36 goals in 66 games and previously 10 in 22 when on loan. We sold him to PNE for good money. Take a look at Ryan Bowman (32) and released from Shrewsbury. At the end of his career but an ideal partner for Jayden.

We seem to be getting it right I am sure we have tried to sign him before proven goalscorer not carrying any I jury problems so 3 good experienced signings I know we get optimistic before the season but looking like we may have people who know what is needed credit to all involved

All three new signings bring the required experience and quality to impact League 2 next season. Looks promising with Curtis and Chislett to provide service to a front combination of Stockley and Garrity or Dipepa.

I just hope we aren’t being set up to loose our best 3 players in Ojo, Garrity and Chislett to pay for these incoming players. We are still desperate for at least 1 more goal scoring forward, another wide man and 1or2 defenders that will stop us falling apart every time we concede a goal. And of course we need to keep our best 3 players!
