The Next England Manager

Also just remind me what Roy hodgson had won that was worth writing home about? Or Kevin Keegan?

To be fair, Keegan had loads of international experience as a player both for England and Liverpool. Hodgson had managed all over the place both at club and international level. He also took Fulham to a European Final and won the LMA Manager of the Year so his credentials wer pretty sound.

I want Allardyce to do well as I would whoever was appointed but his arrogance in assuming he should have had the job years ago has set him up for a really bad fall if thngs don't work out. And if he picks Lee Clattermole I shall apply for an Irish passport.

Ah, you conveniently forget his bolton side finished 8th and were league cup finalists with a team consisting of Okocha, Ivan campo, djorkaeff, ricky gardner and qualified for Europa league or the cup winners cup. In less than two years in the prem.

I don't see that as winning anything! Anyway how long ago was all that, 10+ years?

He needs to coach a team to basically not lose 7(ish) matches in a row (at a tournament for we will surely qualify for the tournaments) and to scrape thru by whatever means..he has been pretty good at that over the years. I'll take drawing all our group games to get thru and then winning all the knockout matches on penalties or a whole bunch of 1-0 wins with the lone striker getting the winner on the break every time.

Vardy to be the new Defoe

I actually think he'll do alright. I just hope he doesn't employ West Ham tactics and start with the likes of Carroll or Downing in the starting 11. Despite the Euro's we have a lot of good young talent in the likes of Stones, Shaw, Barkley and Alli.

Shocking choice in my opinion if he was any good surely a top team would have gone after him and in my opinion he is a bottom half premier manager . Hope I'm wrong but don't think I will be he said he would have took Defoe as one of his strikers so that tell it all Defoe is no longer international class . He took over at Sunderland after 8 games so in 30 games he just kept them up and he is now the right choice to manage the hot potato we call England

But not a lot to choose from, he needs to wear gloves for a 2 year spell. Hopefully the powers that be are searching for a longer term manager to take over after the World Cup. Who knows, he may shake things up and make it easier for his successor.
