Solid signing! Did alright for us on loan a few years ago and he was nowhere near as experienced then. Without setting the world on fire, he's likely to be a substantial upgrade on playing either Jones or Grant at left wing-back.

Extremely good work rate too. Welcome back Sam

Personally I think that’s rubbish. The 3 signings before this one won’t be cheap.
Hes a league 2 left back and it’s a position we needed to fill. He will be more than fine.

I agree at least 2 of the previous signings wouldn't have been cheap.. my point is to balance those signing we will have to offset them with signings like this from a relegated league 2 team.

It's not a criticism... it's just a reality reflecting our relegation I think .

Sam Hart hey former player cannot even remember him playing for us what games did he play for us in was it a short term loan .

Anyway welcome to the lad .

Can he kick a ball .

His he positive

Can he defend

Well if he can do all them 3 and be part of a new Vale  team who work like crazy for one another and have quality where it matters,  then he will be given the thumbs up from me.

Welcome fella

I'll never forget his goal for us.....or rather the way we went 3 nil down at Bolton that day.  Ribiero's squad looked well short that day, and so an unusual day for a young lad to get his first goal!

I always think Supporters are a good judge.  He won Sutton's Supporters player of the year last season so he'll offer plenty in what hopefully will be a better side.  Sold that for me

Really not sure who some were expecting!
Hart is a proper left back who will give it his all , likes a tackle and gets forward to support .
Perhaps a swap deal with Liverpool for Robertson in exchange for Jones and them giving us a couple of £m would have been more appropriate for some 🤷🏻‍♂️🤯

Madness mate. 4 decent additions so far for me. It’s slowly becoming a good window

A pretty solid signing in my eyes. We were in need of a specialist LB / LWB, having not had one since Benning.

             Ripley

Clark Debrah Smith Hart

       Croasdale Ojo

Chislett Garrity Curtis

           Stockley

That starting XI is already a more balanced, robust unit.

Add a commanding CB, to partner Smudge, and I think we are looking half decent.

In Sam's defence it isn't quite 3 successive years😁

20/21 Relegated Southend

21/22 Relegated Oldham

22/23 Mid-table Sutton

23/24 Relegated Sutton

If he makes it 4 I think a few of us might be throwing ourselves in Westport Lake😱

The new Sam Foley!

Was it Yeovil, Vale and Cobblers?

We must be pretty far down the list of left back targets to have brought him back. How many legaue 2 teams has he been relegated with? Oldham, Southend and Sutton? Plus us first time round from legaue one?

I’ve no problem with our signing the better players from relegated teams, it’s a cost effective recruitment strategy. Ripley, Clarke, Chislett and Stockley and arguably along with any of last season’s squad who are offered and accept new deals to stay, are all players ‘signed’ from relegated teams

Guess that now means the Wynne situation may have changed?

Welcome back Sam and here’s to you having a successful season or two with us 🍻

Teams taking shape now let's see who else comes in today 4 players seen at training ground with Moore by man who lives by ground on twitter now it could have being Hart Croasdale Stockley and Curtis so if no one else comes in don't quote me .

A big centre half next a swap deal involving ojo, grant, and another and the player coming in better than all 3 put together and Vale be cooking .

He's got a few years experience under his belt now, onwards and upwards I say emoji848.pngemoji16.png

3 successive years of relegation experience.

It's 3 in the last 4.

Sam Hart is a better option than having Jones or Grant play fullback but am pleased we have a natural left back now. Am increasingly convinced we’ll be playing a back four next season and am all in favour of that.

He played mainly as a left and right winger when he was here before. I think left wingback and leftback is his more natural home.
