Summer transfer rumours and speculation

I didn't rate Ojo in his first season with us and I distinctly remember fans saying he was the best midfielder player at the club - but I never understood that opinion. My opinion then changed from the start of last season as he seemed to play fairly well but I believe his demise came after we lost Arblaster and he was being found out because of the lack of passing options he had available. Arblaster was excellent in the middle of the park, grabbing a little bit of space but then had the quick foot work to get away from any oncoming opposition players. Slate wiped clean from me but it could possibly have been that Ojo just looked good because he had better players around him.

Perhaps like many; looks good in a good team/ with good players around him, poor in a poor team.

For me as long as he wants it Ojo should be in the XI, in League Two he'd be a stand out midfielder, arguably the best at that level technically.

If we want promotion players like Ojo could be key.

I thought he was decidedly average once arblaster and devine left last season, he should have taken up the mantle of midfield maestro but instead he downed tools,he won't be a big loss imho if we get rid or he wants to leave 🤔

4 signings and not one of them have talked about how they want to grow as a person. Thank <ovf censored> for that.

Darren Moore creating a proper football culture, not some bloody zen snowflake retreat!

If we can get off to a half decent start with few wins and a come from behind result early doors I fancy our chances to buck the trend and bounce back up.

Zen snowflake retreat sounds alright @Sam Kelly's Left Boot 😂

The one outfield position that we definitely need another body is right back. We cannot have Sang playing there when Clark gets injured. We already have 5 central defenders, so I'm not sure we will bring another in unless one of them leaves, which is unlikely.

A team that conceded so many goals last season. Not a chance Moore will go with same 5 centre halves there will be some movement in that position I have no doubt. Agree with the right back situation 👍🏻

Absolutely agree with that.

If Clark stays fit all season and hits form he could be a great asset but his recent history shows he's only played 78 times out of 138 possible League appearances in the last three seasons. With my basic maths that means he's been only available just over 50% of the season in the last three years. I'd be delighted if he makes a full recovery but surely the club has to have a back-up in place in case injury occurs again?

I guess the club could see Lomax as a future RB/RWB but the lad's only played three league games and is recovering from injury himself so surely the club also needs a more experienced back-up for Clark?

For me, a loan spell for Lomax to get some first-team football and an experienced back-up for this season would be a good plan.

So we still need another keeper. A right-back. A centre-back. Two more strikers. I'd also like to see a wide player with pace brought in to, even if it's just a loanee. We've had a very good start to the summer transfers but there's clearly still loads to do. And that's also actually taking for granted that we wont need to replace the likes of Ripley, Smith, Ojo, Garrity and Chislett.

But for now, let's concentrate on the positives. The signings of Curtis, Stockley, Croasdale and Hart should instantly make the first 11 we finished last season with considerably better.

Anyone heard the Jordan Rossiter rumour most recently at Bristol Rovers but had a complication with his knee injury last year he is a good player by all accounts.

Not heard that, but he's a very good player. Spent most of last season out after getting an infection from surgery like you say. One of them like Curtis that is hopefully a one off injury rather than a different injury every few weeks like Wilson though. Could spell the end for Ojo if we signed him.

Was out for 16 months.

Way too much of a risk.

Rossiter's appearance tally is dire for someone 27.  Not saying that's all his fault and he maybe over his injury problem and will try to rebuild his career somewhere, but 35 appearances in the last 3 seasons doesn't sound like a one off to me?  He's played about 1 full season in his career at Fleetwood 3 years ago. 🤔

People need to not panic when players leave, whoever it maybe. I wouldnt mind some exits.

Just because the central defenders were poor last season does not mean they will be poor in a lower division with better defensive midfielders in front of them. Smith & Debrah could be world class comparatively in this division !
