A poor team is a poor team. We had a dreadful midfield, worst I have ever seen in terms of creating chances, but Ojo was still the best of a bad bunch, technically a majestic footballer.

Too many Vale fans like rubbish bruisers who can’t actually play football. Ojo can.

Ojo on his day and when he wants to is a good player no doubting that  BUT majestic really?

I'm presuming you're talking post Arblaster and Devine? Also, you haven't been going long if you think that midfield was worse than Pugh and Tonge!

I remember Rossiter running the midfield for Bury against Vale a few years back, and thinking the lad will go onto bigger and better things. It seems as if injuries have been his downfall to date - can we really run the risk? Maybe a 12-month agreement, with certain arrangements in our favour. I have just read that he’s turned Rovers down, despite a new contract being offered.

Ojo did his job second half of last season,  picked the ball up deep in traffic got himself free, looked up to pick passes and nobody further forward was doing anything.  You just need to watch the last 2 matches on iFollow to see that. Sometimes he ended up back in traffic 2 or 3 times and there was still nobody making a run.

Yes he was better with Arblaster and Devine, both players who  got themselves into space to receive a ball.

When they left of course it certainly was. Danny Pugh was ok, still a very good passer of the ball. The issue with Pugh and Tonge were their legs had gone and they could barely move. However you could still see they had some technical nous that saw them both play in the Premier League.

Others will point to the likes of Garrity and Chislett being midfielders, but I would argue that their strength is as attacking midfielders, not creative ones for the strikers.  Our most creative midfielder of the past decade was probably Worrall and he was sorely missed, especially with the likes of Grant and Sang around. In fact, if we need to pay off or offload any players in the squad it would be that pair of wasters. It would  make a massive difference even if we had two adequate players in their roles.

Can’t agree with the ojo comments blokes a cry baby. Disappeared when we have needed him most 2 consecutive seasons. For everyone saying we can’t afford to have injured players then Ojo has to slot into a similar category where we can’t to afford to have players that only play when it suits them. To me that’s actually worse. Injury prone players sometimes is just bad luck Ojo consciously make the desicion to breeze through games and pick up money. Personally he would have been first through the door for me attitude stinks. For those that will say how do you know, use your eyes. Couldn’t care less if he’s lovely guy in training blah, blah, blah. Needs to turn up when we turn up on a match day when it matters on the pitch.

ojo is a quality player. but his attitude is non league. id personally drive him to his next destination after how petulant he was last season. we need good players with a good attitude. he only has 1 of trhose 2 traits. get rid

I remember him getting sent off at Accie in the 95th when we were 3-0 down 2 seasons ago which left us short in MF.

Massively overrated. Carried by Blaster in the first half of the season. He knows his wages are paid for the next two years. Another poor decision overseen by Carol
