Summer transfer rumours and speculation

Of all the youngster, including Dipepa, I've been most impressed with Shorrock.

His touch and understanding of the game looked pretty solid when he was 16. The game didn't move too quickly for him.

To have 20 games under his belt at 17, with some really tough games like Derby away at wing-back, is massive for him. I think he'll stay and be a part of the squad this year.

Shorrock imo is another one of the youngsters who will also make us some money in the future,we know teams have already looked at him.

Also in the couple of games he played although still raw i dont think Lomax let himself down at all especially in the one game away last season(cant remember who that was against though).

I would expect Bhua/Davies and Lomax to go out on loan this season,I think he will keep Shorrock in the squad hoping he has the same impact as Dipepa did plus for the fact he can play anywhere down the left hand side.

He also isn't far off an England call up as well

Lomax has done well and would have played more but for injury. I think it depends on whether we bring in a rightback.  Moore hasn't see him play due to injury, although he's probably watched videos of the Wrexham and Blackpool games. Shorrock definitely won't go anywhere as he still goes to college every day and he's clearly in and around the first team. Buah will go out somewhere, as will Davis for sure.

If we're spending that much in transfer fees I'm assuming that's because a deal to sell either ojo, garrity, chiz or dipepa has been agreed.

Or Carol is just backing the gaffer? I’m sure if any of our players were leaving we’d of known about it. I don’t see what benefits we would get from keeping it hush at all. Also he said we’ve had no concrete offers for any of our players yet, he could be playing that down obviously but again I don’t see why that would be done

We did make reasonable bids for strikers in January. It's possible that we are just spending the money we failed to spend last season.

Not forgetting those kids we sold to Newcastle & Villa for record transfers fees. That would have gone into the budget surely. There may have been another kid we sold to a big club as well I can’t remember on that one

She is backing him to the hilt like she said she would, she wants to rectify her mistakes as quickly as possible and as i said previously ant money that comes in to the club for a player will just allow us to spend some more,I still think there is a bit left to still pay a fee but that could be saved until January

I have no doubt there’s funds left to spend mate but like you say it doesn’t mean we have to go mental or spend it all right now 👍🏻

One of the things i cant wait for next season is seeing which Academy youngsters chosen to play in the EFL Trophy and push on like those few already have... will it be Brazier,Cousins or Agnero

We certainly have some real talent in the Academy and long may that continue

I feel the same, but I also think we won’t get ahead ourselves this year with them being thrown in at the deep end last season. Hopefully this season we can ease them in.

it’s actually looking promising from an academy point of view, I think it gives fans a connection to the players when they’re homegrown. But let’s face it it’s been pretty barren for a long while. Thinking about it is there anyone we’ve produced other than Smith and Gibbo who are out there currently playing in the EFL having come through our academy?
