quite a big difference between the two games in my opinion. France had the same number of efforts on goal, yes. But created many more against a far better side. To me, they like us are going to grow into the tournament and neither started off particularly well, but did what was required.

Is that the same performances which saw us reach our first final in 60 years and second semi final in the same period? If that depresses you then you’ll truly never be happy unless we win every tournament. 

Perfomances don’t matter at international level. Portugal drew their way to a tournament win. As Jean says, Greece played football that Pulis would deem ‘a bit dull’ in 2004. 

You just minimise the risk and hope the ball falls your way. It’s low-margin, odd goal football. 7 game knockout football is not conducive to consistent ‘good performances’.

He's vastly overrated. He's quick and reasonably strong but he's not a patch on some of the greats. I really fail to see the hype. Maradona almost single handedly won titles for Napoli etc. Mbappe can't get PSG anywhere near apart from them winning their farmers league every year.

That is one of the craziest statements I’ve seen on here. Mbappe is not overrated in any sense. He’s an unbelievable footballer.

He’s very good, not a great (yet), Neymar is a player who was vastly overrated.

I wholeheartedly disagree. He's a good athlete and quick but he's nowhere near Maradona, Pele, Best, Messi, Ronaldo x2....all far, far better footballers. I genuinely fail to see the hype. Just like Neymar, the hype overtakes their actual football. He can run very quickly but he's consistently failed to take PSG to the next level. He's not even in the top 10 players playing now, never mind of all time.

There's not been many dud games. Ironically the poorest 2 games probably were the ones featuring the 2 favourites.
