Perfomances don’t matter at international level. Portugal drew their way to a tournament win. As Jean says, Greece played football that Pulis would deem ‘a bit dull’ in 2004. 

You just minimise the risk and hope the ball falls your way. It’s low-margin, odd goal football. 7 game knockout football is not conducive to consistent ‘good performances’.

Yeah those performances where a path opened for us. We were dull in every game of the group stage, crap for 70 minutes against Germany, piss poor v Denmark and piss poor v Italy. 

At no point did we ever look like a team capable of win ing the tournament, for the players we have, it is unforgivable. It was the same in Russia 2018. It was on a plate for us.

I thought Oliver was poor - standard of English referees are below the majority of European leagues now having been far better in the past.
