Looking forward to tonight's Netherlands v France game.

A chance to assess whether or not France are once again genuine contenders for the tournament.

On the basis of the first quarter of the game, France really are once again genuine contenders for the tournament.

Making a pretty decent Netherlands side look mundane.

The issue with the England players is they can't handle the expectations on their shoulders , most of them are bottle jobs and the manager  is too negative in his approach maybe he's been taking coaching tips from Bing Crosby by the looks of it the amount of times the ball was passed back last night was absolutely mind boggling 🤔

Did Bellingham bottle the champions league?

Did Foden, Walker and Stones bottle 4 Premierships on the row?

Did Trent Arnold bottle a premiership and champions league final?

Yes, I’m sure they feel the nerves but they ain’t bottlers. Tactics are totally wrong, 2 defensive midfielders that don’t look like they are allowed to push forward, Bellingham sitting very deep, massive gap from Kane who is isolated so ends up dropping back a lot, a right back played at left back, a right wing back played in central midfield. We have the players to challenge but not a manager to go with it.

They can't handle the pressure

How many times in key matches

Have they folded and sat back instead of going for the jugular they lack the killer instinct , it's all very well doing it for your club it's a different kettle of fish playing for your country the expectation and pressure is absolutely massive and unfortunately the players mind sets are wafer thin but it's all a master of opinion , me owd fruit 😁

Team selection plus instructions. It’s Southgates game plan. Every team tries to score more than the opposition, Southgate’s game plan is to concede less than the opposition.

We have a squad full of players who have played at the top and some of the biggest games in club football, more so than pretty well all the other teams in the tournament, they are more used to the pressure than most other teams. Our failure is down to tactics, not lack of quality or players bottling it.

Deschamps. Too negative. Sack the fraud now. 4 points from 2 games? They should be battering everyone. What an awful manager.

And no French player has scored in 180 minutes.

I disagree the players need to take more  responsibility at the end of the day

You're 1-0 against Italy in the euros final and the team sits back now common sense should kick.in at this point and you disregard what Southgate expects  and take the game away from the opposition it's called assessing the situation and being proactive, Too many players are hiding

You don't have to agree with me

I respect your opinion but I've got mine too

Wonder if the French are frothing at the mouth, calling for their most successful manager of recent decades to go with varying levels of personal vitriol (most personally abusive), after 4 points and two dodgy performances to open the tournament in which things are being figured out?

France proving that a squad of talented players should just automatically waltz through the group stage.

Well said.

England were widely disparaged for failing to beat a Denmark side which were just as well organised as, and arguably more talented than, the Netherlands side.

Football at this level is not easy.

There are few, if any, weak sides any longer.

England are well placed to be group winners, which would be job well done for this stage of the competition.

Denmark are really decent! Schmeichel, Christensen, Eriksen, Hojlund, Hojbjerg, and Andersen are all good footballers.

Sometimes you draw against teams you’re a bit better than. That’s football. Whilst that’s a fair bit to sort out, I’ve found the abuse that Southgate has got a bit much. He’ll get it right and we’ll, again, make it to the last 8 - probably at least the last 4.

For some, that’ll never be enough as we definitely 100% have the best team in the world and anything less than a title is a failure.

In reality, we’re in the top 5 and hitting that again is a decent return.
