Had we drawn a league 2 team last season, we’d be celebrating it as one of the easiest draws we could have. Given we probably have a stronger team than we started last season, without even Loft until the end of August, after Harrison  had left, this should still be seen as an easy draw.

Don’t let watching rubbish last season lower our expectations for a club which is certainly our most well run and funded league 2 side ever.

We need to get funds into the club and a cup run will help, I'm sure Carol and Kevin haven't got an endless pit of funds to keep dipping into 🤔💷💷💷

Because of lack of prize money I bet pre Boro we arguably made a loss v Fleetwood, Crewe and Sutton as the gates were poor.

FA Cup the biggest as get decent money.

A chance for our reserve and youth players to get some minutes. That's really what this competition has become. It is useful,  though not for the reason originally envisaged. Same goes for the EFL Trophy.  Main benefit of progressing in both is the development of younger players.

Wow, there's some bold statements there.  Surely motivation for our opponents, too!
