Season 24/25 - expectations.

With the dead wood we still have was just hoping we would stay in the league.

However, we have had a cracking transfer window so far and managed to keep our better players (so far), so this looks like mid table to play offs now for me. 

Just hope they gel as a team and as DM said he wanted his squad together before the friendlies start so they get to play and learn how each other play.  Other clubs have brought in cracking players and they have not played as a team and they have struggled in the league.

If the super computer is right promotion would be out of this world.  🤣

Got to be aiming for promotion, this isn't a basket case Vale and with the investment and ambition getting back up first attempt must be the goal.

Not as easy as that though and cant take it for granted but anything less the top 7 would be a huge disappointment.

As exciting as the signings are and very welcome after the debacle of last season, a few need to calm down a bit . Expectation is getting a little out of hand , some have gone from not going again to putting bets on for us to win the league 🤷🏻‍♂️
Hopefully all goes well but I’m sure a couple of losses in the first few games will have the same people ranting and raving as usual . A nice steady start will be great with the hope that the team gels and gets better as the season unfolds. 
Let’s get behind them all for all season not just when we’re winning 👍

Clearly expecting promotion at the first go is wildly optimistic but with the team the Club has now put together it's not an impossible outcome - so let's get behind them and make it happen!

It's much more positive now we have decided to 'Ph#ck the process'. I was really sucked in by it all at the time.

I have gone from thinking we would be relegation certainties back in April for 24-25, not I am thinking play offs/top 3. It will be a roller coaster no matter what. Can't wait for the season to start now.

while i agree with alot of the posts we must look for some stability now after a period of absolute direness - i have renewed my season ticket although i left it until the last day this year. we have had a bloody brilliant transfer window and couldnt really expect more. it was good to see carol smiling again on social media. never nice when things arent going well. hopefully we can get the buzz back into vale park and build for the future now. im really excited at the signings weve made most of all tolaj who had a number of big clubs looking at him.

A month ago I would have taken top half.

After the business we’ve done in the last month you would have to say anything less than top 7 would be disappointing and, on paper at least, the squad we have must be as good as anything in the division. I’d certainly say the squad looks stronger than the squad that won the playoffs to get us out of L2 last time.

If we could trim some of the unlikely to feature players and add a right back and another winger the manager will have no excuses to not compete at the right end of the division.

I m the same.... always try and stay level.

Once promotion is done and dusted by Christmas I'd really like to see us have a good go at winning he FA cup this year.

Well we appear to be reset (again) and have made some cracking signings. I think playoffs as so many wrongs want to be righted.
The gaffer does deserve a fresh start but I do have it in the back of my mind about failing to keep us up.
Or did he just realise how hopeless it all was and hence a 5 yr contract a full backing from Carol and Kevin to get us back in league 1 asap. We will see.
A lot of trust and faith has been put into DM and this incoming season.
Cant wait for it to start and to see what happens.

Funny bunch aren’t we. Last season is soon forgotten once new kits, fixtures and new signings are unveiled. That renewed optimism will never go away in preseason.
